“To date, more than 1,000 different mobile space solutions have left our factory,” said Kristjan Kamdron, CEO of MDSC Systems (part of Maru Group), in the Delfi podcast series “Estonian Defense Industry: A Small Nation’s Big Opportunity.” “It is a vast land of opportunities regarding what can be integrated into containers.”

According to Kamdron, the defense sector uses container solutions extensively because they provide the mobility necessary for the military. Operating under the brands Maru Defence and Rolling Unit, MDSC Systems has developed base solutions into which specific customer requirements are integrated.

The most extensive and well-known product of Maru Defence is the full-scale field hospital, the applications of which Kamdron also introduced. A key feature of the field hospital is that its modules can be varied and reconfigured. Although as many as four field hospitals produced by MDSC Systems are currently in use in Ukraine, the Ukrainians do not deploy them as a single, complete complex, as that would allow them to become a definite target for the aggressor.
