On Saturday, the Maru Lake Runs (Maru Järvejooksud) wrapped up a successful season, attracting 1,428 runners to the starting line, nearly a fifth more than last year. Maru was the series’ title sponsor for the sixth year in a row.
Celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, all four runs in the series were completed by 164 people, including ten Maru Group employees. The youth runs brought 179 participants to the course this year. Bert Tippi and Pille Hinn were crowned overall winners of the series. The highlight of the competition – the Lake Ülemiste Run – was won for the fourth time in a row by Leonid Latsepov and Helen Bell.
Triin, the only female employee from Maru to complete the full series, encouraged all outdoor enthusiasts to participate in the Maru Lake Run series next year. According to Triin, starting as a walker is a great option. She had previously completed the series as a walker herself before participating as a runner for the first time this year.
