At the end of 2024, we began concrete work on the Kanama Viaduct on the Tallinn-Pärnu Highway, as part of the Tallinn Ring Road. To date, the viaduct’s piers and one of the abutments have been completed, and construction work on the second abutment is currently underway. At the same time, we are making preparations for erecting and reinforcing the deck slab formwork.
As part of the project, we will construct two deck slabs, each approximately 67 meters long; pour a total of approximately 2,800 m³ of concrete; install about 4,500 m² of formwork; and use over 280 metric tons of rebar. The pouring of the deck slabs is scheduled for March.
The reconstruction of the Kanama viaduct is part of a major infrastructure project by the Transport Administration, with GRK Eesti AS serving as the general contractor. The goal of the project is to renovate the two-level Kanama interchange on the Tallinn-Pärnu highway, including on- and off-ramps and collector roads. Construction work on the interchange began in the spring and summer of 2024 and will be completed in the fall of 2025.
