On October 1, the cornerstone was laid for the first cargo terminal in the southern section of Tallinn Airport’s Airport City business park—the new FedEx Express Estonia air cargo terminal building. The future terminal will have a net floor area of 5,250 m², of which 1,450 m² will be modern office space and 3,800 m² will be warehouse space. In addition, 57 loading docks and 123 parking spaces for terminal employees and visitors will be built adjacent to the building.
The new building was designed by Norte OÜ, architects Enn Rajasaar and Priit Ehala. The cargo terminal is scheduled to be completed in June 2025.
Maru Ehitus is pleased to contribute to the development of such a large business park. CEO Margo Dengo said at the cornerstone-laying ceremony that this project will allow for the implementation of several innovative solutions, which will also help develop the company’s engineering skills. At the same time, the new building under construction will open up numerous new opportunities for the development of the airport’s infrastructure and, consequently, for economic growth.
