Maru Continues as the Title Sponsor of the Lake Runs

Maru will continue as the main sponsor of the Maru Lake Runs next year as well, a running series that takes sports enthusiasts on a tour of lakes across Estonia.

The Maru Group companies supporting the lake run series are Maru Betoonitööd, Maru Ehitus, and Maru Metall; the main organizer is the Stamina Sports Club. The partnership between the running series and Maru began in 2020, and the lake runs themselves will celebrate their 25th anniversary next year.

“As the title sponsor, Maru gives the series organizers the assurance that all the necessary arrangements for the lake runners will be taken care of,” said Urmo Raiend, director of the Stamina Sports Club. “It’s also great to see that Maru’s own employees are actively participating in the series’ races.”

For Maru, continuing as the title sponsor of the lake runs aligns well with our values, as it is an opportunity to support a popular, excellently organized sporting event and a healthy lifestyle.

2025. The final stage of this year’s lake run series, the Ülemiste Lake Run, took place on August 9. A total of 533 participants took part in the 13.7-kilometer race, with Helen Bell and Leonid Latsepov claiming victory for the third consecutive time.

A total of 1,402 runners participated in this year’s Maru Lake Runs, including 179 participants in the mile runs for young people. A total of 140 runners and walkers recorded times in all four lake races, with the oldest born in 1948 and the youngest in 2010. Leonid Latsepov and Bret Schär were crowned this year’s series champions.

Urmo Raiend noted that he is pleased both by the participation of so many top Estonian runners and because the event series offers many activities geared toward children. He added that the growing number of runners is also a source of joy: this year, there were more diverse groups of runners in both the main races and the youth mile races. “This instills optimism for the upcoming 25th anniversary season,” Raiend said.
