Steel Structures for Saku Suurhall
Data
Location: Tallinn, Estonia
Completion date: 2001
Dimensions: 362 tons of steel, 68-meter span
The multifunctional Saku Suurhall with the largest bridgehead in Estonia, covered by a roof of 68 meters wide steel structures, is therefore the most original and largest hall in Estonia. This is the first large-scale project that posed a serious challenge to designers, manufacturers and installers of the Maru Group. The Estonian Steel Structural Society Award, received from the project, Steel Building 2001 speaks of its implementation.
Maru THM: installation of steel frames and roof rack.
Kirjeldus
The structure is made of a steel and reinforced concrete composite that combines the good properties of both materials. Steel parts made under controlled conditions of a factory are filled with a concrete mix on the construction site. A good fire-resistant composite structure is the perfect solution for building multi-storey production and office buildings.
The buildings is with diverse and fascinating architecture and was completed with a steel and glass solution that symbolizes modernity and openness. The overall impression of the building is airy and since the frame does not take up much space, the cost of useful cubature is minimal.
Description
The extension of Tallinn Airport was a responsible object, which was completed under great public attention. Maru Metall designed, manufactured and installed a 465 T-compliant roof structure with a complex technical solution. The international project was prepared in conditions where air traffic and passengers could not be disturbed.
Description
Maru Metall AS and Maru Ehitus AS signed an agreement in the beginning of 2016 to produce and install assembly lines for Kohila Vineer.
Off-shore structures, which have more stringent quality requirements, require greater attention at every stage of production and installation. Port facilities must withstand aggressive seawater environments. Therefore, the quality of the welded seams and surface cladding must be very good. Installation is made more difficult by large dimensions and small tolerances. In any case, repairs and repeating the work must be avoided, since this is very expensive. Maru Metall AS has also been successful in this field of activity.
Description
The supporting structure of the Mira dry mix plant is comprised of many large components, which were bolted together. Very exact, close to minimum tolerances, also had to be observed. Despite the complexity, we managed both projects with no problems.
