Maru Ehitus AS and Elcogen AS signed a contract for the design and construction of a new production building

On April 22, Elcogen AS and Maru Ehitus AS signed a contract to build Elcogen’s office and production building with a total area of approximately 14,000 m². The scope of work includes design services, with completion planned for May 2025.

The new building will enable Elcogen AS to significantly increase its existing production capacity of solid oxide fuel cells and meet the growing global demand for zero-emission energy and green hydrogen-producing fuel cells.

“Maru Ehitus’s mission is to build the future we want to live in, and therefore, we are very pleased to partner with Elcogen AS, who makes a significant contribution to a greener future. Maru Ehitus’s main strength is industrial real estate, and Elcogen’s new building gives us the opportunity to utilize our experience and presents a significant challenge: the building is very complex, the production technology sets very high demands, and various modern solutions are used, such as the utilization of residual heat from the technology,” said Maru Ehitus CEO Margo Dengo.

Enn Õunpuu, CEO of Elcogen: “We are very pleased that we will soon be able to significantly increase Elcogen’s production capacity and that the factory will be equipped with the latest available technology. This will significantly reduce environmental impact and minimize air pollution, as we will implement circular economy principles and additionally use residual energy and self-produced renewable energy more efficiently in the new factory.”

The building will be located at Loovälja tee 7, Liivamäe, Jõelähtme municipality, Harju County. Elcogen’s current building on Valukoja Street was also designed and built by Maru Ehitus 12 years ago.
