Iru CHP

On August 17, 2011, AS Maru Metall signed a contract with AS Merko Ehitus Eesti to build Estonia’s first and the Baltic States’ largest waste-to-energy plant. The contract covers the fabrication and installation of steel structures, which will be manufactured by AS Maru Metall and installed by Maru THM OÜ. The scope of work includes approximately 850 metric tons of steel structures, as well as 45 metric tons of hand-cut timber, 1,300 m² of grating, approximately 300 m² of corrugated sheets, etc. Welded beams and columns accounted for approximately 50% of the total volume. The largest beam in the project has a total mass of nearly 20 metric tons. The structure will be fully completed in 2013.
